The Challenge

Invoicing software is notoriously utilitarian — rows of grey data, dense tables, and workflows that feel like they were designed for accountants in 2008. Coral Billing wanted to challenge that convention and build something modern businesses would actually enjoy using.

The challenge was introducing personality and color without undermining the seriousness and trust required in financial tooling.

Approach

1) Vibrant Without Being Loud

A coral-anchored palette was extended into a full semantic color system — status colors, category tags, and accent highlights — that made the interface feel alive without distracting from the financial data underneath.

2) Data Clarity First

Tables, filters, and invoice status flows were designed around readability. Dense information was chunked into clear visual groups, with color used as a secondary layer of meaning rather than the primary one.

3) Streamlined Invoice Workflow

The invoice creation and sending flow was rebuilt from scratch to minimize steps and cognitive load. Smart defaults, inline editing, and progressive disclosure kept the experience fast for repeat users.
